If you're lucky enough to celebrate a birthday in Poky, you just might want to take advantage of Lava Hot Springs. This was our first trip but I'm sure it won't be our last. January was perfect for steaming hot mineral pools with soft gravel for your feet to crunch around in and snow banks for cooling off. We thoroughly enjoyed lobster skin, sliding around in the mist and mineral-bathing outside in winter.
Not pictured: an impromptu picnic to tide children over after discovering keys were locked in the van, dinner at the local Thai place, forts in the new basement space and cousin tackle-tickle wars.

What a fun place to celebrate with you-uns! Martin's joke about Bucherts in the mist still makes me laugh.
Be my mist partner?
Fun.
I thought you were Sarah in that first photo until I looked again and was thinking, "That can't be Sarah." And then I realized it was you.
We must be looking more and more like each other.
A Thai place in tiny Lava Hot Springs! It truly is heaven.
Bathing beauties!
