(I thought I was being tricky and aesthetic by putting in those red peppers but after the fact, I think they look kind of freaky. They're too big and who knows what hanky-panky they're exercising on the flavor.)
In other domestic news, I got my newest quilt back from the fair today. I won't be attempting to display there again. I was all excited at the prospect of maybe getting to see the thing hung (thereby enabling a photo) but no such luck. When we ventured up to see the exhibits, I couldn't even find my quilt at first. When we finally did locate it, all you could see was about 12" x 48" of the BACK of the king-size patchwork.
What a let down.
Between our 2 visits we managed to enjoy the fair anyway though. Anna loved trying to feed the little goats hay. All of the little ones were anxious to know the names of the rabbits. We cooed over the chickens, got pangs over gorgeous dahlias, goggled at posing sea lions, judged the fine arts and home arts divisions ourselves (thank you very much), and indulged in funnel cakes and kettle corn.
I'll go back again even if my quilts won't.*

*When I find a way to take a picture of the anniversary quilt, I'll post one.

The pickles look lovely! And I meant it when I said I'd help hang out the window to get a shot of the quilt! We were just lamenting the fact that we have no window screens, but in this event, it might come in handy. :)
I love the red pepper effect! That was the first thing I noticed. I think they look great and so delicious! I've got a box of peaches to get to and a tree exploding with ripe plums. I've got to get my jelly on!
I was just next-ing blogs while taking a break at work in office and came to yours. It's a very delightful read, I mean I read through it at one go.
And obviously I'll keep coming back. That's a a good blog you got there.
Angie, I may take you up on your offer yet! Thanks.
Christa, awesome. Good luck with the preserving; jelly is ambitious!
Rima, thank you and welcome.
Very aesthetically pleasing canning! We've been busy putting up a variety of goods here in Logan; no pickles, however, as K is the only one who eats them. It's always a great feeling to gaze upon our pantry shelves with home-bottled goodness. Please post a photo of your quilt. Mine is on hold and will be for who knows how long (at least until canning season is over).
i liked so much your blog,i´ll have new ideas from now.
