What we've been up to this summer: Burchwin Reunion

We've done a lot of reunionizing this summer with different circles of people. Where's my Venn diagram when I need it? The first weekend in August we had a mini-Manoa-ward reunion in the mountains of Utah. Happily, several of the families that we made friends with while in Hawaii also ended up in Utah but it isn't always easy to get together with the busyness of life. In the Spring we met for Thai food and carved out a couple of days this summer to converge at the cabin. Here it is, nestled in its sweet spot:

There's not a lot to report other than a good, relaxing time (at least for us; those who were sleep deprived may not be able to say the same!). We learned a new game and stayed up really late discussing faith and politics.

We went for walks

and played at a recently-discovered/maybe abandoned? fort:

We sang songs (here are Martin and Ben doing a rousing rendition of Ghostriders in the Sky)

and played with sugar and fire:

One day while driving home from church in Honolulu, Martin got to reminiscing about all of the great people we've been able to meet and interact with (this includes you!). I'm so glad our world collided with these people too.
